I Just Watched Food, Inc.

And I'm Never Eating Again!

LOL!

Ok, so I'm being melodramatic. Seriously, I just watched the documentary Food, Inc. OMG! I had no idea how messed up our country's food industry is. I think the most astounding thing was learning that a handful of corporations pretty much control the entire food industry. Tyson, Cargill, BPI, and a few others exert power over farmers, the USDA, the FDA, and even the government. It's mind-boggling. And did I mention that the way the food industry operates is even impacting our diets?

I don't mean to come off as a hysterical, raving lunatic trying to scare people. And I'm certainly not going to become a vegan or vegetarian and start condemning meat-eaters but, this film definitely got me thinking about what I eat, where the food comes from, and how my food choices impact my health, the environment, and the economy. It's inspired me to do more research and educate myself so that I can make better choices.

Bless those individuals who are working to educate the masses and bring about change in a sensible manner.

Lex Is That You?

Michael Rosenbaum
Just came across this story and had to share. Apparently, some guy in Ohio named Michael Rosenbaum lost his cool and destroyed a park gate using a rifle and ax.

I saw the name Michael Rosenbaum and burst into a fit of giggles. It's not OUR MR but I couldn't help but think that's where Lex has been hiding out. LOL.

Tiger
So by now the entire planet knows that Tiger Woods was involved in a car accident that's led to revelations that he has been unfaithful to his wife. I won't go into the salacious details because frankly I don't care or think it's important at this point. I am a Tiger fan and have been since he burst onto the golf scene over a decade ago. I don't think he's a god or perfect. I've never idolized or worshiped him. I've just admired and respected his great talent. But I'll be honest; I am disappointed that he has used poor judgment and has done things that are now a huge embarrassment to himself, his wife, Elin, and their families. Make no mistake. Tiger is no victim; he made his bed and now he has to lie in it. Did I just say that? Hee. I do think that the media coverage of all this has been insane but I guess that's the world we live in now thanks to the internet,TMZ, 24/7 news/sports channels, etc.

As for Tiger's released statements, maybe he is taking the coward's way out by not holding a formal press conference and answering questions. IMO that's why he bailed on his own tournament. But at this point I'm not sure that a press conference would accomplish much. I mean do we really need or want to know everything?

Whenever I hear of an athlete, celebrity, or any public figure getting caught in a scandal such as this I just shake my head. The shock effect has worn off; it's almost expected. I just hope that Tiger has learned a valuable lesson and that somehow he and Elin can deal with and get past this for the sake of their two children. If that means going their separate ways so be it.

Smallville S9 Ep9: Pandora

Very disappointed and angry. Speaking as a Clark fan I don't think this episode did well by him at all. He was pretty much emasculated. Why does this show hate its hero so much? I started writing this review last night and then decided I needed to sleep on it because I was getting too worked up. Sleep didn't help that much. LOL

Initial Thoughts on Pandora

Did anyone else experience audio issues during the episode?

Upon first viewing my reaction is very mixed. There were some parts I liked: TW's hotness, Badass!Tess, the return of Dr. Emil, and the Clois interaction. But there were things that really annoyed me: not enough Clark, Super!Chloe, future Chloe and Oliver not trusting Clark (WTF!), and the insinuations that Clark cannot make a decision that turns out to be the right one or that he cannot handle a situation by himself. GRRRRRRRRRRR!

I am curious about the impending Blur/Zod storyline.

For all the fuss about the Wonder Twins this was definitely a Lois/Clois centric episode which is probably why it turned out much better than what I was expecting. And I may be alone in this assessment.

I was sure we were in for a campy, cheesefest (see: Aqua) but instead it turned out to be a pleasant surprise much like Hex from last season.

What Is BP Smoking?

Seriously? Where does he get his stash?

I guess I should back up and explain what's got me all upset. Apparently, Brian Peterson, one of the EP's for Smallville had a chat with TV Guide about the show et al. To say the interview left me flummoxed would be an understatement. The entire interview came off as a Chloe love fest/pandering to Chloe fans. And as for Clark, Clark who? There was no mention of the protagonist or what's upcoming for him. Granted, that could be the fault of the interviewer or that there's a part two of this interview but I just cannot believe some of the things BP said about Chloe. To wit:

*sigh*

I was afraid this would happen. When Fox decided to move Fringe from Tuesday to Thursday night I had a feeling the ratings would suffer. Although the show isn't in immediate danger this cannot bode well for a Season 3.

I love this quirky show!

Smallville S9 Ep7: Kandor

Another difficult episode to grade mainly because it was mostly exposition that didn't focus on Clark. However, I do think the Kandorians' storyline needed to be fleshed out more and I liked that we got backstory on the Jor-El/Zod relationship. I'm still not happy about the lack of Clark but what we did get  I liked. A lot.

Audio Problems During Kandor???

Hey lj friends:)

Did anyone else have weird audio problems during the episode? The audio seemed to be cutting in and out the whole time and there were chunks of dialogue that I missed.

I may need to download the ep and re-watch it.

I saw this blog on The Chicago Tribune website and it got me to thinking...

http://featuresblogs.chicagotribune.com/entertainment_tv/2009/11/got-questions-for-the-watcher-leave-them-here.html

This may be my favorite item:

No one is allowed to create a show involving anyone named Gosselin. LOL!

May I also add:

No more Angry Black/Sassy Females
No more Angry Black Males
No more will they/won't they relationships that drag on for seasons.

Just watched the pilot of episode of  V and I'm already hooked.  The reboot looks to be very interesting. I remember the original mini-series; I had high hopes for this and I'm glad to say I wasn't disappointed.

Brief Initial impressions:

Nice to see Laura Vandervoort again. She was an alien on Smallville and now she's an alien on V. LOL. Can't wait to see what's in store for Lisa and Tyler.

Ryan...wow!

Erica's FBI partner...double-wow!

I think I have a girl crush on the actress playing Anna. She just seems to fit the part.

I'm sure I'll re-watch this a few more times just to get a handle on all the characters.

I had a really hard time grading this one. There was one storyline I loved - Tessod; another I liked a lot - Clois, another that I was completely meh on - Chloe/Stuart; and another that I just did not care about - Ollie/Mia.

Early Crossfire Reaction: Stop Squeeing!

All you Cloisers can stop squeeing now. LOL

I'm going to have to digest this episode some more before posting an official review. Right now, I think I liked it but I feel that the Clois action got upstaged by the Tessod action. That storyline could be incredible if TPTB don't screw it up.

I already know that I didn't care that much about the Ollie/Mia storyllne and I'm totally meh on Chloe/Stuart.

Tom Welling took my breath away a couple of times during this episode.

Conspiracy theory: TPTB acknowledge Tom Welling's hotness in a tongue in cheek manner.

Disclaimer: I watched this while babysitting my seven month old niece and two year old twin nephews so I wasn't able to completely focus on the episode. This also explains why I'm posting my review at 4:00 AM. I couldn't sleep and I'd figure I'd get it my quick thoughts out of the way.

I was disappointed in this episode. It felt like all the ingredients for a great meal were there but somehow in the prepping and cooking phase it  didn't all come together.
